8 Miles Done

I knocked out 8 miles on this morning in preparation for the ING Half Marathon coming up in a few weeks on March 21st.  It’s hard to believe it is only 3 weeks away now.  There is still preparation work to be done but the end is in sight.  We do 12 miles next Saturday and then the taper begins!

I was reminded this weekend that this race is about so much more than an excuse to get back in shape.  As you know, I’m doing my race for Team in Training with the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in Atlanta.  I heard from an old friend this weekend that his lymphoma has returned and he is having a very tough time.  I hate that he is having to go through chemo again but thankful he has an ally like the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in his corner.
